MEDIATION: Effective January 1, 2023, Judge Klass's standard rate for mediation is $220 per hour with a one time $200 administrative fee. Cancellations must be made at least one week before the arranged meeting.
LEGAL EXPERIENCE
Mark Klass served as a Superior Court Judge in North Carolina for 24 years. Upon his retirement in December 2022, he had served as a Resident Superior Court Judge for two years and as the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge for 22 years. He presided over every type of civil and criminal case in 51 counties across the state.
Mark has been certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct mediated settlement conferences in superior court.
Prior to becoming a judge, Mark was an Assistant District Attorney for Prosecutorial District 33 for 1-1/2 years and worked in private practice for 13 years, handling civil, criminal, real estate, and corporate law.
Mark is a graduate of Central Davidson High School in Lexington, NC (1975), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1979), and Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law (1984).
Mark is licensed in real estate, formerly licensed as a general contractor, and is a licensed pilot. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and boating. Mark is in his element when he is in the woods or on the ocean.
